Pedri: "We need to approach this like a Champions League match—ready to dominate."

Barcelona, Dec 15 (EFE).- Barcelona midfielder Pedro González 'Pedri' expressed his frustration after his team’s 1-0 league defeat to Leganés, lamenting that they failed to approach the match with the same intensity they typically show in the Champions League.

“We need to start games better. When a team like that scores, they sit back, and it becomes very tough. We lacked spark and clarity in front of goal. We need to come out with the same mindset as in the Champions League—to dominate,” he told Dazn.

The loss marked Barça’s second consecutive home defeat, leaving them with just five points from their last 18 in LaLiga EA Sports. While they remain at the top of the standings, they no longer control their own destiny in the title race.

Pedri described the game as "challenging" and criticized the team’s lack of sharpness, particularly in the first half, when Marko Dmitrovic denied them on three clear opportunities.

“It’s impossible to feel good today. We started off sluggish, and while we improved, we didn’t have the spark needed to score,” said Pedri. He urged his teammates to finish chances “with the same confidence we show in the Champions League.”
