Bangladesh Ends 15-Year Drought with Historic Victory Over West Indies
West Indies vs Bangladesh: Scorecard
Seasoned spinner Taijul Islam emerged as the star of the show as Bangladesh secured a historic 101-run victory over the West Indies in Jamaica on Tuesday, marking their first Test win in the Caribbean in over 15 years.
Taijul claimed his 15th five-wicket haul in Test cricket on a gripping fourth day at Sabina Park. His efforts helped bowl out the West Indies for a mere 185 in their second innings, sealing Bangladesh's first Test triumph in the Caribbean since July 2009.
The victory also allowed Bangladesh to level the two-match series at 1-1 and move ahead of the West Indies, climbing to eighth place in the updated ICC World Test Championship standings.
World Test Championship Standings
The West Indies will have an opportunity to reclaim their position when they face Pakistan in a two-match away series early next year. Meanwhile, Bangladesh will carry momentum into the next Test cycle following their remarkable win.
